Kelpi gets a royal visit at ChangeNOW 2026 in Paris
Prince Albert II of Monaco chose Kelpi’s stand at the prestigious ChangeNOW event in Paris today to learn more about how advanced bio-materials are enabling packaging to move away from fossil fuel-based plastics to more sustainable solutions.
The Prince, known for his landmark environmental initiatives for climate, oceans and biodiversity, was shown Kelpi’s world-leading seaweed-based coatings by Founder Neil Morris and CEO Hugo Adams.
Kelpi was selected as one of the innovative scale-up companies to show to the Prince the progress being made as the company takes its solutions to market for the first time. The UK-based business was chosen as one of the official solutions for the planet at ChangeNOW - the world's largest sustainability event of its kind.
The technology is being showcased at the show this week by global cosmetics leader L'Oréal, which selected Kelpi for its €100m L’AcceleratOR programme. And in another part of the huge sustainability trade event, Kelpi is also appearing in PlasticFreeLand alongside others pushing the boundaries of what can be done with natural materials.
“To be selected to explain to the Prince the vital role of bio-materials in reducing our dependence on fossil fuel plastics was a real honour,” said Kelpi Chairman Neil Morris. “As a world leader in protecting the environment and focusing on the blue economy, his interest in Kelpi is a tremendous boost to our work in reducing plastic pollution.”
